Green ICT: A Producer’s Guide

Published in 2023, this producer’s guide presents climate-conscious digital service production and how to best support the private and public sectors in greener digital procurement. It also presents actionable points for ICT companies that help them develop and/or procure climate-conscious and more sustainable digital services.

Green ICT: A Producer’s Guide summarises the learnings and understandings developed in the Green ICT Project. Between June 2021 and August 2023 the project, coordinated by Finnish NGOs TIEKE and TIVIA, as well as LUT University, mainly focused on ICT companies in the Helsinki Metropolitan region, coaching them in Green ICT service development.

The Green ICT ecosystem is a professional network promoting sustainable ICT services, products and processes in organisations. 

The ecosystem was developed by Finnish NGOs TIEKE and TIVIA and the LUT University as part of the project A Green ICT ecosystem – building sustainability and competitiveness for businesses in the Uusimaa region. The project was funded by the REACT-EU-call from the European structural fund. Funding was granted as part of EU recovery measures to lessen the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
